A maniacal, horrific clown might have snapped up the top spot for a second week running at the US box office, but Jennifer Lopez and her ambitious gang of strippers took their share of the cash, too. It: Chapter Two was the chart king again, nabbing $40.7 million according to studio estimates.

But Hustlers, which drew solid reviews was snapping at its clown shoe heels, beating expectations for a second-place launch that saw it earn more than $33 million. It's a healthy win for STX in the States, which hasn't had a load of success since The Upside.

Angel Has Fallen fell one place to third, adding $4.4 million, while Good Boys was shoved to fourth and $4.2 million. The Lion King rounded out the top five with $3.5 million.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs And Shaw slipped one place to sixth, motoring to $2.77 million, and Overcomer took in $2.73 million in seventh. At eighth, we find the week's second new release, novel adaptation The Goldfinch. Despite the book's bestseller status and well-known/respected names both sides of the camera, it flopped badly, possibly torpedoed by some mixed-negative reviews. The film earned $2.6 million.

There was better news for The Peanut Butter Falcon, which added screens and jumped into the top 10 at ninth with $1.9 million. Finally, wrapping up the chart is Dora And The Lost City Of Gold, which made $1.8 million.
