We loves us some Isla Fisher here at Empire Towers (even if Helen, the massive racist, can’t tell the difference between her and fellow gingress, Amy Adams). And so we’re always cheered when we hear that the former Shannon Reed is making waves in Hollywood.
Hence today’s impromptu cake party when we heard that Fisher has signed on to join the voice cast of Gore Verbinski’s animated movie, Rango. She’ll play the female lead opposite Johnny Depp, who will voice the title character, a household pet who goes on a journey of self-discovery.
No word yet on who Fisher will be voicing, but we’re sure it’s someone with a sunny disposition, a glorious smile, beautiful hair and a heart that’s good and true.
She wasn’t the only cast member to join today – Alfred Molina, Ray Winstone, Harry Dean Stanton and Ned Beatty all signed on, which is not only one hell of an impressive ensemble, but drove the average age of the cast up by some forty years. Thankfully, Abigail Breslin is on hand to drag that down.
Verbinski is currently hard at work on Rango, before he’ll turn his attentions to videogame adaptation, Bioshock.
