Way back in February of this year, we brought the news that Matthew McConaughey was ready to star in Harmony Korine's new movie, The Beach Bum. Things have moved forward and now Isla Fisher will co-star in the film, which Variety's report simply calls Beach Bum.
With Fisher's casting come a few more details about the Spring Breakers director's latest, as it'll apparently see McConaughey as a rebellious and loveable rogue named Moondog, who gets into scrapes as he lives life to the fullest. Fisher is aboard to play his wife, who we're sort of hoping is called something simple such as Mary or Gladys just to balance things out.
The new comedy should be shooting soon and is likely to be out next year. Fisher last worked on Tag, which will be out in June 2018 for Stateside audiences but hasn't confirmed a UK date. She's also attached to star with Keanu Reeves in The Starling.
