For some, it will be welcome news. For others, it'll be a case of ditching their TV and covering any screens in the area so they don't catch a glimpse of the show and its controversial main character. Marvel and Netflix used the show's San Diego Comic-Con to announce that Iron Fist will return on 7 September. A video is now online to confirm the news.
We know, we know.... Finn Jones' Danny Rand wasn't too many viewers' favourite Marvel TV character, nor was he the best part of The Defenders. But the companies clearly think it's worth continuing his story, and had him pop in Season 2 of Luke Cage.
As for what Danny, Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and the rest will be up to when the show returns, there are so far only hints – it appears our heroes will face off against Steel Serpent (Sacha Dhawan) and there could be some help in the form of Misty Knight (http://www.empireonline.com/people/simone-missick/). Also present? Alice Eve, who was revealed at the Comic-Con panel as playing Typhoid Mary.
Assuming you're up for more of the Immortal Iron Fist, he'll be back in a couple of months.
