International Trailer For Gamer Online

If you thought that Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor couldn't kick it up any further than Crank: High Voltage, prepare to be proved wrong. The brand new trailer for their latest action-fest **Gamer **is online, with Gerard Butler as a living, breathing, video game character who wants out of the constant death match he calls a life. Watch the Gamer trailer here.

Like a Death Race/Running Man hybrid, **Gamer **shows a distopian near future where video gamers control a band of real life fighters in the shape of death-row prisoners (sound familiar yet?).

Invented by ruthless recluse billionaire Ken Castle (Dexter's Michael C. Hall), the mind-controlled first-person Slayer technology has singled out main man Kable (Butler) and his talented teenage player Simon (Logan Lerman) as the ones to beat.

But, of course, Kable isn't meant to be in the ultraviolent game, having been unjustly taken from his wife and family, and he must fight his way back to freedom, saving the world from the dehumanising technology on his way. Natch. Where is The Stath when you need him, eh?

**Gamer **is in cinemas from September 4, and co-stars Amber Valletta, Alison Lohman, Kyra Sedgwick, Ludacris, John Leguizamo, Zoe Bell and Terry Crews.
