While his latest stab at action with Mile 22 might not be setting the box office alight, Mark Wahlberg knows he still has comedy to fall back on. Or so he'll be hoping with new pic Instant Family, which also stars Rose Byrne.
Based on co-writer director Sean Anders' real experiences adopting, the story finds Pete (Wahlberg) and Ellie (Byrne) deciding to start a family and stumbling into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child, but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15 year old girl (Isabela Moner for a stealth Transformers: The Last Knight reunion with Wahlberg), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family.
Octavia Spencer, Tig Notaro, Julie Hagerty and Eve Harlow also appear, with Anders' regular collaborator John Morris on co-writing/producing duty. Instant Family is out in the UK on 15 February next year, a fair wait given the film's 16 November Stateside release.
