Being a working mother can’t be easy — especially when the day job is throwing yourself into daring superheroics, and your baby is displaying untamed powers of its own. After a 14 year gap, Pixar is back with a long-awaited sequel to The Incredibles that moves things on from the original by about… well, a few seconds.

While there isn’t a shift in time, the characters are certainly moving forward in the film. After thwarting Syndrome in the climax of the first film it’s Elastigirl, aka Helen Parr, who’s back off to work after the arrival of their third child Jack-Jack. This exclusive still from the film, as seen in the latest issue of Empire, shows Elastigirl speeding through the air on her motorbike on her way to save the world.

“Helen always held her own,” director Brad Bird told Empire in the latest issue. “The idea that they are equals was established in the first film — it’s just going a little deeper into that equation.”

As for Mr. Incredible, aka Bob Parr, he’s on stay-at-home-dad duties — and if you’ve seen the new trailer, you’ll know that’s no easy task for him, as the baby’s powers start to manifest in dangerous ways.
