Now that the misadventures of Will, Jay, Neil and Simon in The Inbetweeners Movie are a massive great hit at the UK box office (£39.4 million and counting), the two sick minds behind the characters, writers Iain Morris and Damon Beesley are using their newfound clout to start cracking on a follow-up. But it won’t be featuring the saddos:, it’s a new comedy called Mortal.

Beesley and Morris have already cranked out the first draft of the script, which finds two brothers and their mates travelling off the coast of northern Scotland to spread the ashes of their father.

Sounds like it could be a little more sombre than a bunch of idiots looking for sex in sunny climes, but we bet there’s plenty of scope for misbehaviour.

And whether or not any of the cast sign up, it’s already looking like something of an Inbetweeners reunion, with producer Christopher Young now on board.
