Comic-Con’s smaller, less crowded and less stressful cousin WonderCon is going on right now in San Francisco and while there aren’t as many movies being pimped as at the San Diego event, some studios are taking the opportunity of the quieter schedule to let loose some new publicity materials. Universal and Relativity Media, for instance, which are backing Tarsem Singh’s Immortals, are debuting the first batch of character posters for the film, which you can peek at below.
Immortals sees crazed king Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) deciding that he’s going to declare war on humanity. Unleashing an army of horrific soldiers on the land, he’s slowly destroying Greece in his quest to locate the Epirus Bow, a powerful weapon crafted in the heavens by Ares, one of the Gods. If Hyperion gets his paws on it, he’ll be unstoppable.
But while the Gods can’t directly intervene in the affairs of man, they do manage to influence the outcome with Zeus (Luke Evans) helping a hero, Theseus (Superman-in-waiting Henry Cavill), to find his calling. Theseus gathers a band of warriors and other mortals together to battle against Hyperion’s sweeping evil.
The first proper look at footage from the film will be shown at WonderCon, and Empire will of course be there to take a gander. Check out three of the new posters below, and head on over to Fandango to see the rest.
Immortals will be out on November 11.
