He’s been a reliable supporting comedy man on US TV and in movies like the recent Bad Neighbours, but Ike Barinholtz appears ready to nab something chewier. He’s signed on to star opposite Tina Fey and Amy Poehler in** The Nest{ =nofollow}.

**Pitch Perfect **director Jason Moore is calling the shots on the film, which finds two sisters coming home to discover that their parents are selling the family home and moving to a small condo. Therefore, the girls will need to find alternative lodgings now that the “nest” is no longer open to them.

To drown their sorrows about the loss of their family home, they decide to spend a last wild weekend there together, feuding, feasting and possibly even finding a little maturity. Barinholtz, a regular writer/performer on The Mindy Project on TV across the pond, is set to play a neighbor who will also romance Fey’s character.

Moore is preparing to shoot the film based on Paula Pell’s screenplay, with a release date already penciled in for December 18, 2015. Yes, the movie – in America, at least – will be going laugh bait to lightsaber with a certain new **Star Wars **film. Liz Lemon would be appalled.
