Amid the more expected winners, including Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl and Transparent's Jeffrey Tambor, there were one or two surprises as the Screen Actors Guild handed out its awards on Saturday night.

Prime among them, in a night that showed more diversity than the Oscars this year, was Idris Elba, scoring not one but two awards, for Beasts Of No Nation and Luther. Elsewhere there were people who have become regular visitors to award podiums this season, including Room's Brie Larson and *The Revenant*'s Leonardo DiCaprio. And, as had been widely predicted, Spotlight took the cast prize.
