Idris Elba and Richard Madden - John Luther and Robb Stark – team up for a new action-thriller called Bastille Day. It’s set in Paris and the new trailer crams in all the running, shooting and smashing through windows you could wish for on a frosty Tuesday. Check it out below.
Madden is an American petty criminal living (and pickpocketing) in Paris. Elba is Sean Briar, the CIA man pursuing him for a stolen bag containing something highly confidential. The explosion of a bomb in the French capital leaves them thrown together in common cause: a much wider conspiracy that brings them into the spotlight of local law enforcers.
Fear not, though, because big ‘Dris’ agent is, by his own admission, “reckless and irresponsible”. Not only will be not being going by the book, he long since blew the book up. Then he swept up the surviving shreds and burnt them too.
Delayed by November's terrorist attacks on Paris, Bastille Day gets its UK release on April 22. Eden Lake and Woman In Black’s James Watkins was behind the camera on this one.
