Hunter Parrish Joins Paper Man

Hunter Parrish, the Weeds star who’s currently knocking ’em dead on Broadway in the musical Spring Awakening, has just joined the cast of Paper Man, an intriguing and well-cast indie comedy from husband-and-wife team, Kieran and Michelle Mulroney.

Parrish will the working-class teenage boyfriend of Emma Stone’s character, a Long Island high school student who strikes up an unlikely friendship with Jeff Daniels’ failed author, much to the chagrin of his long-suffering wife (Lisa Kudrow) and, um, his imaginary superhero friend (Ryan Reynolds).

The Mulroneys are, of course, the writers of the long-gestating Justice League Of America movie, which means that the superhero element now makes sense - as does the presence of Reynolds, long tipped to be the Flash.

But this sounds like a quirky and potentially intriguing dramedy, well worth keeping an eye on. Our imaginary investigative journalist friend is already on it.
