The Hunger Games: Mockingjay casting tractor rumbles ever onward, digging up actors left and right to join what will be a large ensemble as Katniss and co take the battle to the Capitol. Today, Variety brings word that Wes Chatham and Elden Henson are on board as Castor and Pollux.
Castor is a cameraman who works for what’s known as a “Propos” team, filming propaganda footage of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) as she and her sharpshooter squad take on missions in the Capitol.
His brother Pollux, also part of the camera crew, is an Avox – someone who has had his vocal chords removed as punishment by his Capitol overlords. Prior to the Resistance, he worked in the utility pipes and passages under the Capitol, which makes him a useful ally for sneaking around the various underground areas.
Chatham, who has appeared in The Help and In The Valley Of Elah, and Henson (a veteran of Lords Of Dogtown and Jobs), are just the newest recruits for a cast that already includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Lily Rabe, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Dormer and Julianne Moore. Francis Lawrence will kick off shooting soon, ready for a November 21 release date next year. Part 2 will follow on November 20, 2015.
And in case you didn’t know, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire leads off our huge Winter Preview in the next issue, which hits shelves on Thursday, September 26.
