We've already brought you a look at one film today that sees humanity battling nasty alien invaders. Now here's the final trailer for Amazon's big stab at the genre, throwing the likes of Chris Pratt and Sam Richardson against a futuristic threat in The Tomorrow War.

Written by Zach Dean and marking the live-action debut of The LEGO Batman's Chris McKay, the film has a compelling sci-fi concept: the world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future, mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species.

The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (JK Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.

This latest look at the film explores a little more about Pratt and Simmons' strained relationship, and has room for extra comedy from Richardson. The Tomorrow War lands on Amazon on 2 July. Given how close that is to America's Independence Day holiday, it remains to be seen if anyone declares independence from alien invaders in the movie.
