The great and good of the UK film industry gathered in London last night to celebrate the opening night gala of the 44th Regus London Film Festival. But while the in-crowd may have been impressed by spotting director Alan Parker or festival director Adrian Wootton arriving at the Odeon, Leicester Square, the crowd's hearts belonged firmly to the film's rising star, Kate Hudson.
