For its final season, Netflix’s political drama House of Cards is re-shuffling the deck. Kevin Spacey is out, Robin Wright is front and centre, and the show is barrelling towards its endgame. With Wright’s former VP Claire Underwood already sworn into office by the end of Season 5, the course was clear following the allegations against Spacey: commit to a final run focusing on the new President Underwood, and go out with a bang. Take a look at a brand new image from the upcoming episodes, as seen in the latest issue of Empire.

“In a strange way, it became an opportunity to explore something that has organically been in the show’s DNA since the beginning,” showrunner Melissa James Gibson told Empire of Wright’s new headline billing. “We’re still navigating what they did together and Claire’s own complicity. Circumstances of the storyline force her to face herself in a way she didn’t have to when Frank Underwood was in.”
