The teaser trailer for **Hop arrived late last year, though given the complicated nature of blending a CG critter with the real world, it offered zero actual footage from the movie. But now the full trailer has gone online over at Apple and we get a proper look at both the film’s characters and its story.

Russell Brand is voicing EB, a rebellious young rabbit who is next in line to inherit the mantle of the Easter Bunny. But he doesn’t want the job, and would rather run away to Los Angeles to make his name as a musical star, much to the disapproval of his father, voiced by Hugh Laurie.

While wandering the streets, the Bunny is hit by Fred (James Marsden)’s car, and the guilt-ridden slacker takes the little guy in to help him recuperate. Soon, though, our hero is causing all sorts of chaos in Fred’s life, not least with the woman he has a crush on (The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco).

There are a few funny touches here, and we’re not predicting the out-and-out horror that was Yogi Bear, even if director Tim Hill did unleash not only the Garfield sequel A Tail of Two Kitties but also the first Chipmunks film on us all. Given that this is from the producers of Despicable Me, we have more reason to be hopeful…

Check out the trailer at Apple. **Hop **arrives on April 1.
