An unusually stunning girl in a rather spiffing, metallic tinged frock sauntered down a red carpet laid out along Leicester Square in the barmy evening air. Not exactly the treatment you'd expect for a supernatural thriller, but then again, the girl in question was Kate Hudson. She was in town for the premiere of The Skeleton Key the latest spooky effort from British director Iain Softley. Telling the story of a care nurse who goes down into bayou country to look after a stroke victim in a house that has a few sinister secrets steeped in 'hoodoo', it was written by Ehren Kruger (who gave us the Western version of The Ring), but proceedings last night couldn't have been further from the morbid, dank goings-on in the film. "It's fun out there; I've never experienced anything like that before that wasn't an awards show." said Hudson of the warm welcome she'd received from the fans lining either side of the red rug, before getting down to the business of answering all the questions there was time for.
