Her ex-husband may have been the one hitting front pages around the world recently, but Nicole Kidman has now taken another wallet-filling leap into the limelight following the announcement that the Australian star is now the highest-paid actress in Tinseltown.
The Hollywood Reporter’s fifth annual list puts Kidman in the top spot with $17 million per movie, just edging above Reese Witherspoon, who commands a mere $15 million per film. Renée Zellweger, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz have also breached the $15 million barrier, whilst former Friend Jennifer Aniston has to make do with a meagre $8 million for her lead movie roles. Julia Roberts and her record breaking $20 million fee are nowhere to be seen, owing to her current fallow period away from the screen.
The top ten looks like this:
- Nicole Kidman, $16 million-$17 million
- Reese Witherspoon, $15 million
- Renee Zellweger, $15 million
- Drew Barrymore, $15 million
- Cameron Diaz, $15 million
- Halle Berry, $14 million
- Charlize Theron, $10 million
- Angelina Jolie, $10 million
- Kirsten Dunst, $8 million-$10 million
- Jennifer Aniston, $8 million
