Teen star Hilary Duff may not get your blood pumping, but how about formerly big names like Winona Ryder, Chevy Chase, Sean Astin and Jon Cryer? Still not excited? Well, it's being directed by trendy identical twin directors Mark and Michael Polish, of Northfork and Twin Falls Idaho, er, fame, and is being described as a "know your age" comedy.
Mark Polish also stars as a successful author who returns to his high school to deliver a "commencement address" (confusingly, in the US this means graduation, rather than the start of school. Those wacky Yanks!) but who has never gotten over his high school crush, Winona Ryder. Duff, meanwhile, has just signed on as high school senior Shasta O'Neill, who flirts with Polish' author and invites him to the prom, a nice step up from the tweenie roles Duff is best known for, but still not likely to push her off the rails and lose her the position of Only Teen Star Not To Flash Her Bits At The Paparazzi any time soon.
No word yet on who Astin, Cryer or Chase will be playing, but shooting starts in July in California, with a script by both Polishes and Michael Polish directing. Kinda sounds like Grosse Pointe Blank only with less murder, eh?
