Stars Minnie Driver and Mary McCormack decided to live up to the title of their latest film when they arrived last night (16 July) for the premiere of crime comedy High Heels and Low Lifes. As the pair tottered out of their limos in stilettos, Driver joked to reporters: "We're tall birds anyway, but you can never be tall enough." Playing a pair of friends who take to blackmailing some London gangsters after learning of their latest heist on an eavesdropped phonecall, Driver and McCormack manage to land themselves in deep water trying to turn a profit while remaining in one piece. McCormack bubbled with enthusiasm about the project and working alongside Driver saying: "It's nice to work with a friend, particularly when you're playing friends." The two girls were joined in Leicester Square by director Mel Smith, who extolled the virtues of the film both as a comedy and as a thriller. "For what it's worth I'm very proud of it," he commented. "I'd say it was the film I'm happiest with so far."
