Hiddlesticks!* Rejoice! For the man they call Loki is back in a massive Disney franchise film. No, he hasn’t been asked to return for the Avengers sequel – yet – but he has apparently snagged a small role in The Muppets… Again.
According to Kermit-centric blog MuppetsHenson, which went rooting around in Hiddleston’s online CV, he’ll show up in the Muppets sequel as a character (presumably a Houdini-style magician) called The Great Escapo.
He’s just one of a wealth of planned appearances, with Dexter Fletcher, Peter Serafinowicz and more cameoing. Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell are the main players besides the usual Muppet gang in a tale that sees them embarking on a world tour. Criminal forces have other plans for our fuzzy favourites, especially Constantine, who just so happens to look exactly like Kermit...
Hiddleston, who was last seen trying to destroy our own Chris Hewitt with his dastardly Cold Hands powers (see above) will also crop up in Jim Jarmusch’s Only Lovers Left Alive and, of course, Thor: The Dark World, which hits the UK on November 1. And, lest we forget, he has a history with at least one of his future felt co-stars...
*Yes, we know the officially sanctioned term is Hiddlestoners. We were just trying to be original.
