Henry Cavill might be the unluckiest man in the entire acting world. In the past five years he's got to the final stages of auditions for Batman, Superman and James Bond (he was second choice to Daniel Craig on that one) and missed out on them all. So, we and his therapist thank the Lord that there's finally some luck on his side. Cavill, who is currently appearing in US TV show The Tudors, has joined the cast of Woody Allen's next movie. Obviously it doesn't have a title yet.
The film takes Allen back to his native New York and the only detail known so far is that Larry David and Evan Rachel Wood play two halves of a potential romance. Yes, you're right, that is rather revolting. But it is ripe for comedy and the idea of David and Allen working together is extremely tantalising. Cavill will play a more suitably aged man who's set up with Wood by her mother.
