Henry Cavill In Talks To Return As Superman For Future DC Films

Henry Cavill in Man Of Steel

In the last couple of years, there has been much speculation about Henry Cavill's future – or lack of it – in Warner Bros.' DC movies as Superman. Cavill himself has dropped hints that he's sticking around, and now that's being backed up by a report from Deadline that says he's in talks to return to the suit.

But before you get your hopes up for a Man Of Steel sequel, that's apparently not the plan. Nope, if the deal does go through Cavill would apparently pop up in future movies rather than another stand-alone, at least for now. As the site mentions, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad are unlikely candidates, since they've wrapped shooting, and he seems an ill fit for the tone of Matt Reeves' The Batman. So perhaps he'll stop by to see Shazam properly this time? Or show up somehow in Black Adam? There's also a chance this opens the door to another team-up film, though given the reception handed to Justice League (and all of this), that isn't in the cards just yet.

Still, hopefully this will give Cavill a chance to show what he can do with a Supes who smiles a bit more.
