Though it somehow seems wrong to be thinking of Halloween at a time when summer is only just gasping its last, promoting horror titles taking aim at a core release time waits for no marketing department. So now we have a full trailer for Hell Fest.

While the spooky holiday has grown in impact in this country, America is where it is truly celebrated on a grand scale, and mazes have been a staple of that for years. Big budget attractions key into that, such as Universal Studio's Halloween Horror Nights and the scares run by the Dark Harbor team at the Queen Mary in California's Long Beach.

Hell Fest finds a group of friends deciding to dare the eponymous event, even though there are rumours of dark doings within its lurid environs. Was someone murdered there last year? Who is that creepy masked dude who starts to stalk our heroes? And are they watering down the drinks? Okay, that last one is mostly our question.

The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd is among the team bringing this one to life, with horror veteran Gregory Plotkin (he directed Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and has edited the likes of Get Out and Happy Death Day) unleashing the killer madness. Reign Edwards, Amy Forsyth, Courtney Dietz and the once and future Candyman himself, Tony Todd, are among the cast, and Hell Fest will be looking to scare up business at US cinemas from 28 September (clearly aiming for a jump on scare season), but there's sign of a UK release just yet.
