Looking to bounce back from the flop that was Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, Luc Besson is gearing up to make his next movie, Anna. He's hired Helen Mirren and Luke Evans to star in the film.
No details were released about the new movie, save that it's an action film that will feature the pair in lead roles and newcomer Sasha Luss as the title character. We suppose it makes sense for Besson to head back into slightly lower-budget territory, and after all, his last film to feature a one-word title that is also a name, Lucy, was a hit.
Lionsgate and EuropaCorp are setting up a co-production deal for the movie, which will kick off shooting next month. "We are delighted to be reunited with Luc and his EuropaCorp team on another exciting, action-packed film featuring an A-list cast," Lionsgate chairman Patrick Wachsberger tells Variety. "Luc is a visionary filmmaker with whom we are proud to extend our longstanding relationship." Lionsgate will have its Summit arm release the movie itself.
Mirren will be seen in Winchester and The Nutcracker And The Four Realms, while Evans has Professor Marston And The Wonder Women due out on 10 November.
