Amongst the many (many!) announcements to emerge from Disney's big investor day was big news for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor: Hayden Christensen will appear as Darth Vader!
The series, which has Deborah Chow directing, is scheduled to kick off shooting in March. Not much else has been revealed about the show as yet and, indeed, a sizzle reel shown to investors was not available to watch generally. All we really know is that it'll be set 10 years after Revenge Of The Sith.
Announced by Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy, who promised "the rematch of the century", this seems set to be divisive. And besides, all Obi-Wan really needs to defeat his old pupil is some sand. Anakin hates that stuff, and it'll get right in Darth's breathing apparatus.
“It was such an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker,” said Christensen in a statement. “Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t on the greatest of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for us all. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.”
