Well our recent interview with Deep Blue Sea producer Akiva Goldsman brought forth a veritable torrent of information about upcoming movies - not least some news about the new Tom Clancy project to which he'd been linked as scriptwriter. When asked this week how the project was progressing, Goldsman was all at sea.'If I were producing it I could tell you exactly where it was in production,' he said. 'All I know is that Paramount is looking for Harrison to do it after he’s finished the movie he’s currently shooting [What Lies Beneath with Michelle Pfeiffer]. I know only that they’re planning to make it and Harrison seems to want to make it.' There had been a lot of rumours on the net as to whether The Sum of All Fears would actually be the next book developed for the big screen. 'They actually developed Cardinal of the Kremlin with other writers for a while and then aborted it,' explained Goldsman, 'and that’s when I came up and did The Sum of all Fears.’ Based on the novel of the same name by Clancy, The Sum of all Fears sees our old favourite Jack Ryan fighting to save the Middle East peace plan from a group of Palestinian terrorists whose plan to strike down the peace deal bizarrely involves them restarting the Cold War.
