If you’ve been listlessly drifting through life, wondering when you’ll be getting your next dose of singing, dancing and rapping penguins, take heart: 2011 looks to be your year. We’ll shortly be graced by Jim Carrey and a waddle of the flightless types performing in Mr Popper’s Penguins, while December will bring the launch of CG ‘toon sequel Happy Feet 2, which has just laid its first promo egg over at Apple.
Given that this is very much an announcement teaser, there’s zero explanation of what will happen in the movie itself, just a lot of the birds dancing around. But thanks to Elijah Wood we do know that – spoiler alert! – heroic flapper Mumble will have a sprog this time around. We’re promised a lot of new characters and, on the evidence of this, plenty of new musical numbers.
Happy Feet 2 also features the voices of Sofia Vergara, Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt and Hank Azaria. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think.
