Still counting the box office receipts from his last outing with Hannibal Lecter, producer Dino De Laurentiis announced in Cannes today that he's planning a return to the serial killer's territory. De Laurentiis is working with Hannibal author Thomas Harris on a new story The Lecter Variation. According to ScreenDaily.com, the story will take in the psychopath's childhood in Lithuania through to his teenage years in Paris and murderous arrival in America. 'Lecter was born into a very rich family but the war destroyed his family and killed his parents,' the producer explains. 'He was left with his sister with whom he had a very close relationship.' The timeline of this new movie will mean that the producers have to find four young actors to play Lecter at significant stages of his life from 12 through to 25.
