We've come to expect news on the Baywatch film adaptation from Dwayne Johnson's enthusiastic, emoji-packed social media channels. But this has slipped out via other channels: US comedian Hannibal Buress has joined the cast of the new comedy drama.
Buress, known for his stand-up act, his Comedy Central series Why? and films such as Bad Neighbours, The Kings Of Summer and Daddy's Home, will play a member of the beachfront community that comes under threat in the new film.
Johnson will be the leader of an elite squad of lifeguards, which includes Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra and Kelly Rohrbach, who must stop a greedy tycoon from ruining their beloved bay. Whilst also presumably saving lives and looking good running in slow motion.
Seth Gordon is calling the shots on the movie, with filming set to start in a couple of weeks. Buress recently worked on James Franco's The Disaster Artist and is one of the voices in upcoming Illumination 'toon The Secret Life Of Pets.
