Hold onto your small white hats everyone – the next season of The Handmaid’s Tale is not far off. And while the expanded adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel has a reputation as one of the most harrowing shows around, Season 3 looks to push even further into the cathartic fight back against the oppressive forces of Gilead. Yep, the rebellion is kicking off – and you know it is, because America’s oppressive new rulers don’t even want to call it a rebellion for fear of helping it spread. Watch the trailer here:

Elisabeth Moss is, of course, back as the titular handmaid June (or, Offred) – and it looks like her decision to stay in Gilead at the end of Season 2 will allow her to be a key member of the fight, with Serena an unlikely ally this time around. Due to her status, Serena can implement changes in a different way than June. Plus, our embattled hero still has chemistry with Nick, and we’ll see how their baby daughter Nichole fares under the care of Emily.

Season 3 is arriving on 5 June – just over a month away – on Hulu in the States. Here’s hoping it won’t be a long delay before it hits Channel 4 in the UK.
