Since writing Meet The Fockers and writing/directing Along Came Polly, John Hamburg has been quiet. No, he hasn’t been locked in the section of US prisons set aside for people who write bad comedies based around near-swearing, he’s been hard at work.
Not only is he writing and directing again, this time on the comedy Troubleshooter, which sees a man trying to sort his life out while he’s on the run, but he’s also cooked up an idea for a buddy action comedy called Secret Agent Men.
Since he’s already so busy, he’ll hand the actual writing of the script over to Scott Turpel and Kyle Pennekamp, who helped him develop the idea. And what is the idea, you ask? We could tell you, but it’s secret. Geddit? Okay, look – it’s a Universal comedy. Of course they’re not saying what it is yet. That’s what they do.
Troubleshooter is looking for a cast right now. As for Secret Agent Men, it’ll likely be filming later next year.
