It’s been a while since Haley Joel Osment has been seen on screens – three years, to be exact, since 2007’s Home of the Giants. But while he has one other film (Montana Amazon) in the can and aiming to release later this year, he’s just signed on to a new comedy, Sex Ed.
Since he’s clearly too old now to play a high school kid, it only makes sense that he’s nabbed the role of a college graduate who has his heart set on teaching algebra, but thanks to tough budget cuts, ends up leading a sexual education class. The comedic twist? He’s a virgin.
Oh, but he’ll get practical advice from a mentor in a blues bar, come into conflict with the local parents’ group and fall for a beautiful Polish girl who barely speaks a word of English. But who needs words when you’ve got the language of love?
Ads director Isaac Feder has signed on to wield the megaphone, working from Billy Kennedy’s script. There’s no word on when it’ll start shooting. Please don't insert your own, "He used to see dead people, now Osment's seeing Ed people!" joke here.
