No stranger to adaptations of novels, Hailee Steinfeld is making a deal to star in another. She’s leading the cast for a new film based on supernatural romantic young adult thriller **Break My Heart 1,000 Times.

Daniel Waters – not the one who wrote Heathers – is the author behind this one, creating the story of a world in which a cataclysmic event leaves the barrier between our world and that of the dead torn asunder. The result is ghost-like essences of the deceased known as “Remnants” becoming part of every day life. But after years of relatively peaceful life together, one of the Remnants sends a young woman (Steinfeld) a threatening message, spurring her on a mission that will change her life.

Jason Fuchs wrote the adaptation and **Step Up Revolution **director Scott Speer is aboard to call the shots in what Gold Circle Films hopes will be a franchise-spawning movie.

Steinfeld will next be on our screens in Pitch Perfect 2, out on May 15. She’s also worked on** Barely Lethal** and Vince Vaughn’s graphic-novel adaptation** Term Life**, both of which have yet to lock in UK release dates.
