Will Arnett is best known as loopy magician Gob on Arrested Development, and for being one of the funniest people on a show hardly lacking in funny people. But now that the Development looks permanently Arrested, what’s a comedy thesp to do?
Keep his film career ticking along nicely, apparently. Not content with already having three completed films (RV with Robin Williams, comedy Let’s Go To Prison, directed by fellow laugh legend Bob Odenkirk due later this year and a tiny voice in Ice Age 2 already in cinemas) under his belt, he’s also been pitching a new idea to Paramount.
The Ambassador will feature Arnett as a rich kid Vice President’s son shipped off to Europe to represent the States. Cue madness as this spoiled brat becomes the ultimate ugly American. The script is being written by former Saturday Night Live penman Michael Schur. And while he waits for the ink to dry, he’s hard at work on Blades Of Glory, the Will Ferrell Skating comedy.
