While the book certainly has name recognition around the world, it would seem to have less of a plot hook than even Battleship. Or What To Expect When You're Expecting. Or He's Just Not That Into You. And while you could compare it, to say, Paramount’s efforts to make a movie based on Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, at least that had the central figure of Ripley as an explorer to provide a little focus.
But we’ll keep an open mind for now – and make two suggestions. One: pay Samuel L Jackson lots of money to at least cameo, since he’s in the book as the star with the biggest box office. And two?
