While she's more normally been found on the big screen these days, Gugu Mbatha-Raw has plenty of TV experience on her CV, including a recent stint on Apple TV+'s The Morning Show. She's sticking with the tech giant's streaming site for a new series, psychological thriller Surface.
Not actually about a Microsoft gadget gaining sentience and causing trouble, the plot is being kept under wraps for now, but we do know that it comes from Veronica West, who recently created the High Fidelity TV series that was unfairly cancelled after just one season.
The new show is backed by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine company, which also produces The Morning Show. Apple has ordered an eight-episode first season with shooting set for next year.
