So, Guess Who Won't Be In Hangover 2?

Well, that went away quickly. After rumours persisted abou him cameoing in The Hangover 2, it would seem that Mel Gibson won’t be packing his bags for Thailand (the mock-up of a Thai tattoo parlour built on the Warner Bros. studio lot, at any rate) anytime soon as it seems someone on the team wasn’t exactly jumping up and down with glee at the idea.

While no one official would go on the record while it was still being hinted, it would now seem that it at least got the point where director Todd Phillips was running the idea past his bosses and collaborators to judge whether he should go ahead.

Turns out someone didn’t like the idea And though Phillips doesn't say who, we did hear Zach Galifianakis got upset about something. on the set.. “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew," said the director in a statement.

Gibson hasn’t exactly endeared himself to the Hollywood community with his outbursts and his drunken slanging matches, but it looked like he might be getting yet another chance to rehabilitate himself, Mike Tyson-style, by appearing in the comedy sequel. For now The Beaver, if it ever gets released, might have to serve as that shot.

Bad news, then, if you were looking forward to the idea of Gibson popping up. And if you’re no fan of the man? Then consider it all’s well that ends Mel.
