Former Saturday Night Live star, Tim Meadows, has joined the cast of Adam Sandler’s new comedy, Grown Ups, bringing the number of SNL alums involved to a staggering 473,172.
Meadows, who appeared on the show from 1991-2000, further swells an SNL-tastic cast that includes Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Colin Quinn, Norm MacDonald, Maya Rudolph, Tim Herlihy and former hosts Salma Hayek, Steve Buscemi (back in the Sandler/Happy Madison fold, we’re glad to see) and, most terrifying of all, Gary Busey.
They’re on board, along with **Paul Blart: Mall Cop **star, Kevin James (who’s never hosted SNL, and so must be feeling left out), for the comedy about a group of high school friends who reunite after 30 years. Needless to say, hilarity ensues. Well, hopefully ensues.
Dennis Dugan is directing from a script by Sandler and Fred Wolf, while Columbia Pictures is so confident about the movie that they’ve already shifted it into the middle of next summer. Fingers crossed that their confidence isn’t misplaced.
