Pixar continues on its original films kick early next year when Turning Red arrives in cinemas. We've had a taste of the movie via the teaser, but here is the full trailer, which explores more of the story.

Written and directed by Domee Shi, who won an Oscar for Pixar-produced short Bao (which also handled parent/child themes through an Asian lens), Turning Red focuses on Mei Lee (Rosalie Chiang), a confident, dorky 13-year-old torn between staying her mother’s dutiful daughter and the chaos of adolescence. And as if changes to her interests, relationships and body weren’t enough, whenever she gets too excited, she “poofs” into a giant red panda.

Sandra Oh plays her mother who, as we learn here, knows more about the issue than first thought – turns out it's a family legacy in the style of Teen Wolf, albeit with some mythological Chinese background this time.

Also featured? Mei's friends and music from the fictional boy band 4*Town, featuring tunes written by Billie Eilish and Finneas.

Turning Red lands in UK cinemas on 11 March.
