Greenland proved to be something of a delightful surprise earlier this year in the UK; a disaster movie from Angel Has Fallen director Ric Roman Waugh and star Gerard Butler that managed to find subtle layers amongst all the extinction-level event action. Now they're getting the gang back together for a sequel called Greenland: Migration, so, we guess, spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the first...
The original saw Butler's John Garrity and his family (including wife Allison, played by Morena Baccarin) trying to reach the safety of a bunker in Greenland when a comet threatens the Earth. Now, in the follow-up (written again by Chris Sparling), John, Allison and their brood must leave the bunker and embark on a perilous journey across the decimated frozen wasteland of Europe to find a new home.
Waugh is planning a shoot next year, and the rights to distribute the movie will be up for sale at next week's Cannes Virtual Market.
