The awards season continues in earnest as America’s prestigious National Board of Review has announced its 2005 awards. Good Night, And Good Luck topped the night with best film, while Philip Seymour Hoffman won best actor for Capote and Felicity Huffman scored best actress for Transamerica.
Ang Lee won best director for Brokeback Mountain, joining Jake Gyllenhaal, who took best supporting actor. Gong Li grabbed best supporting actress for Memoirs Of A Geisha.
Other wins included terrorism-themed Paradise Now as best foreign film, March Of The Penguins as best documentary and The Corpse Bride as best animated feature.
As is traditional, the NBR picked a list of 10 films of the year, which includes Good Night, alongside Capote, Brokeback Mountain, Crash, Munich, A History Of Violence, Match Point, Syriana and Walk The Line.
