Sorry to disappoint anyone who read the headline and might have been expecting a big screen remake of the classic sitcom. The Good Life is a small, independent, coming-of-age drama with almost no chance of a guest appearance by Richard Briers.
The film, which will be helmer by first-time writer-director Steve Berra, tells the story of a young man struggling to fit into a town that clearly doesn’t suit him. Broken Flowers’ Mark Webber is our hero, with Zooey Deschanel (Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy) as his love interest, the one person who understands him. Also signing on are Bill Paxton, Chris Klein, Cinderella Man’s Bruce McGill and Harry Dean Stanton.
Berra has just kicked off shooting in Winnipeg, Canada.
