If this deal actually locks in, it could represent the fantastic combination of funny people from two different generations. Goldie Hawn is in talks to star with Amy Schumer in her new, as-yet-untitled comedy.
According to Vulture's Kyle Buchanan, whose early word was confirmed by The Wrap, Hawn is talking about playing Schumer's mother in a film that the Trainwreck writer/actress has been developing at Fox.
Originated by The Heat's Katie Dippold and inspired by her relationship with her own mother, Schumer has adapted it for her voice, working with regular collaborator and sister Kim Caramele. The story is still mostly being kept quiet but it apparently follows a family holiday that goes horribly, hilariously wrong.
Jonathan Levine is on board to direct with Paul Feig producing. If Hawn does end up in the film, it'll mark her first cinematic appearance since The Banger Sisters, and a welcome return for a comic talent. There's no sign yet of when this one might start shooting, but it'll likely have to wait for Schumer to finish work on the latest series of her TV show, Inside Amy Schumer.
