Golden Globes TV Awards 2021: Ted Lasso, The Crown And Schitt’s Creek Emerge Victorious

Ted Lasso, The Crown, Schitt's Creek

TV has, somewhat unsurprisingly, become a lot more prevalent in many people's lives this past year, as huge numbers stayed home and looked to TV for comfort and escapism. And there was certainly a lot of quality content this year (put your hand down, Emily In Paris). Which meant there were plenty of nominees for the Golden Globes to consider this year.

As part of an unusually awkward ceremony, which had to be an uncomfortable blend of two different venues and a lot of glitchy Zoom calls, the Hollywood Foreign Press also had to confront its own controversies and failings, pledging several times to better on its own diversity.

There was not much diversity to be found amongst the TV winners – John Boyega aside, it was a very white list. The Crown emerged triumphant, while Schitt's Creek added to its trophy cabinet with yet more accolades.
