As 2019 looms, so too does awards season – and the Golden Globe nominations are the first ones out of the gate. The ceremony has announced the films, directors, and stars who are in the running to receive a shiny trophy next month, and it’s a pleasingly eclectic list – with Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman and Crazy Rich Asians rubbing shoulders alongside more typical awards fare like A Star Is Born and If Beale Street Could Talk. There are, as always with the Globes, some interesting choices in the delineation between the ‘Drama’ categories and ‘Comedy Or Musical’ (Vice counts as a comedy, but A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody are in the drama category despite the significance of music).
Take a look at the full list of Golden Globes 2019 nominees in the film categories, and read the list of TV nominations here. The Golden Globes ceremony will take place on Monday 7 January 2019, with Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg presenting the awards.
