With Godzilla Vs. Kong doing a roaring trade at the global box office as cinemas truly start to re-open, Legendary is looking to once again recruit the film's director Adam Wingard for another stab at a MonsterVerse title, and he's in talks to tackle more giant beast mayhem.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, discussions are at an early stage and there's only rough seeds of an idea floating around right now, even if Wingard does return. The trade magazine has heard one possible title: Son Of Kong. There's no script in place, and not even a writer attached yet, so consider this one still very much at an embryonic stage. Still, the chance for Gamera to finally get his moment in the Legendary/WB cine-sun is at hand!
Complicating matters further is Wingard's now busy schedule, since Warners has him developing a ThunderCats film. And there's that Face/Off sequel also lurking on his To Do list. Still, at least Legendary can feel a little more confident about the MonsterVerse moving forward.
