When you have Scott Frank and Steven Soderbergh, who made Out Of Sight as writer and director respectively, passionate about a new project, you'd imagine companies would be chomping at the bit to produce it. But that's not the case for Western series Godless, which meandered through limbo until it was picked up by Netflix. The new teaser for the show is online now...

The story finds notorious criminal Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) and his gang of outlaws on a mission of revenge against Roy Goode (Jack O’Connell), a son-like protégé who betrayed the brotherhood. While on the run, Roy seeks refuge with hardened widower Alice Fletcher (Michelle Dockery), an outcast herself, in a worn-down, isolated mining town of La Belle, New Mexico, governed mainly by women. When word reaches La Belle that Griffin is headed their way, the town bands together to defend against the murderous gang in a lawless western frontier.

We suppose it's a tougher sell for a Western to head to TV, with all the production outlay that such a series requires. And not everyone has the deep pockets of, say, an HBO or a Netflix. At least the show is now on the way, with a 22 November date on the calendar.
